HP B9180 Replacement
« on: December 18, 2007, 02:02:16 pm »

My 9180 went back to HP due to a crooked feed/skewed image issue.

Functionally, all is well with the new unit. However, it has a different sound characteristic than the original. Mechanical movement is more harsh sounding and there is what I would describe as a "chirp" when the feed mechanism adjusts itself when you open the Specialty Media Tray (at the very end of that process)

Anyone else who has had multiple units or owns a new unit notice anything similar?

The new printer is dated Dec 2006 and the old was marked April 2006.

Thanks for any observations,

Chris
