First Sale question

Sold my first picture today and wanted to know where to sign and how. It is a stretched canvas print on a frame so there is no border.

Thanks

Lot of different opinions on this. "Fine art" photographers usually leave room and sign on the matte. Portrait photographers have usually signed on the bottom right of the print.

Make it clean and neat and make your own decisions to suit yourself. It's your print so you can sign it where ever.

I'd also consider having some sort of stamp or logo on the back to identity where you are, and to perhaps stop copying, although you can't really copy a canvas.

I sign my canvases inside the image on either the bottom left or right corner, depending on what is the least distracting.

I use a metallic marker, either silver or gold, again depending on the image. The metallic ink is nice in that from certain angles it really stands out and from other angles it's nearly invisible.

I think the signature should not call attention to itself.

For matted prints, if you sign the mat I think it's best to also sign the print underneath; I think the print itself should be signed in all cases.
