viewfinder masks and marks
« on: November 11, 2007, 05:49:18 am »

Hi folks,

Earlier this week, I started wondering about aspect ratios and medium format viewfinders.

Personally I like the fuji 680GXIII's finder since I have both a 6x6 and a 6x8 screen due to marks wich mark the 6x6 crop.

I also frame my shots a bit wider, so cropmarks in the viewfinder would be nice. Kind of like bleedmarks on a printed page.

At school we have an old phase one back in 2:3 aspect ratio and this orange transparant mask to put in a hasselblad viewfinder. It works wonderfull IMO.

My question is this:

Is there a suplier of custom-made viewfinders or masks in different aspect ratios?

If so, can these masks also be used with a prism finder or 645 cameras?

What kind of viewfinders will the Hy6 have since it's both a 645 and a 6x6 camera?

regards

Mike
