« on: October 30, 2007, 03:38:24 am »

Hi.

Anyone having experience with the Mamiya Shift / Tilt Adapter NI701 to RZ?

Is it easy to work with and do it work well together with P45+ and ........?

Like to hear from you.

Mamiya Shift / Tilt Adapter NI701. Do it work?

The adapter is indeed very easy to use. Turning the knob on top of the adapter allows for vertical shift and knob on the front allows for tilt.

It must be used with the RZ's short barrel lenses(SB) 75SB & 180SB. At times I use it with the 110 lens for product still life work and when I don't need to be as tight and flat with the 180SB.

The only drawback I find with the adapter is that it cannot be rotated to take advantage of side to side shift and the fact that it does not work with the wider lenses like the 50ULD.

They also sell an adapter that allows for more accurate focusing via groundglass. This adapter is placed by removing the digital back or film back.

Hi Oscar.

I had tested the shift adapter today and find it - as you write - very easy to use. Mamiya should sell this item and camera as a standard kit for studio photographers.

You don'nt get a tech.camera, but a very fast working camera (as fast as a RZ can be   ) with a litle tilt. Enoug for many close up studio jobs.

I have testet the adapter with my RZ 140 Macro and PhaseOne P45+. Se enclosed photo. P45 file is cropped to 4200x3600 pix.

Link to 4Mb jpg file..........

Max bellow extension and max tilt. F. 22.

A: With max tilt.   B: No tilt.

I find it worth to order.

Kind regards
