Vertical orientation in Print mode
« on: October 29, 2007, 05:44:42 pm »

I've been intrigued by the following lately:

when two raw files of the same size (15 MB) are opened in Print mode, if it's horizontal orientation, it says 468 ppi as native resolution, while if it's vertical orientation it says 313 ppi, setting the print size of both as identical.

Of course when I then open the same file in vertical orientation in CS2, after exporting it as tiff, the file size (as in width/height) is bigger, as it has maintained 313 ppi.

Is this something that I just have to do as chore? I correct the file size and the resolution back to 468 ppi, the first thing in CS2?

The reason why I need to know files' native resolution is that when I export them as tiff, there's Image Settings section where I need specify ppi. My understanding is that I am supposed to maintain the native resolution.

Am I missing something here?

Thank you for your help!

Mari,
I've also seen that bug. Report it to Adobe [a href=\"http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform]here[/url]. They seem to determine ppi from the horizontal image dimension.
