Canon EOS 1DsMkII more problems
« on: October 29, 2007, 05:41:28 pm »

Hi all,

my EOS 1DsMkII is driving me nuts.

I posted this yesterday: http://luminous-landscape.com/forum/index....showtopic=20548

Today I downloaded the last images I've made before I sent the camera to cps Germany and found that the camera has changed its name: The first 4 letters of the file numbering indicate the camera body, they say. But from one file to the next the filenames changed: _O0N5042.CR2 and then suddenly XO0N5043.CR2 (the Underline "_" became a "X").

Anyone who has experienced the same?

Best,
Johannes

If you set your camera to use sRGB, the four characters are the id of your body. If you switch to AdobeRGB then the first character is replaced by an underscore ("_"). But you did already know that, didn't you? Did you (or CPS) reset your camera?

The underscore in the name is some kind of convention for files shot in JPEG config for AdobeRGB, even if you are only shooting raw. Change your JPEG prefs and you'll see.
The real name of your camera files is the one that starts with a letter.
