Use of Variations after import to CS3
« on: October 23, 2007, 02:21:21 pm »

I'm fairly new to both lightroom and CS3.  When I exported a RAW or JPEG file to CS3 from Lightroom to correct a color cast, the Variations option under image adjustments was grayed out.  Is there a reason for this and is there a way to correct this?  Thanks for your help.

You cannot use the CS "Variations" adjustment against a 16 bit per channel image.  You should select "Image/Mode/8-bit per channel" to enable it.  From Lightroom - your default edit settings are probably set to 16 bit... change that to 8 bit for images where you will be applying the Variations adjustment.
