Duplicating Layer Groups in PS CS3
« on: September 24, 2007, 01:38:02 am »

This is something I've been trying to find a fix for for a long time.

When you duplicate a layer group in Photoshop it appends " copy" to the name of every layer within the group. I can understand why it would do this for a single layer so you can tell the new layer from the original layer but doing so for a layer group means I just have to go and rename all the layers in the group afterwards. Holding down the alt key and allows you to rename the group but not the layers in it.

The only means I have found to prevent having to rename all of the layers in a duplicated group is to duplicate the layer group to another image by dragging it across or selecting new from the document dropdown, this is still a bit of a pain though.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
