Web gallery problems (CS2)
« on: September 21, 2007, 09:21:06 pm »

Another new problem is that I get all sorts of posterization when I post a web gallery. I told it not to re-size the large images and they're profiled to sRGB, but they look horrible in the gallery, or when I open them locally into Exploder 7 or Firefox 2.x.

They also look bad if I open the source images directly with either of these browsers on the local machine, but look fine in the XP's image viewer, so I don't think it's a Photoshop problem, there's something else going on that's new.

Any ideas?

Check the image quality/compression setting in the gallery builder. If that gets set low, it will recompress the images even if they aren't resized
