I purchased -12 months ago- a Mamiya mount P25 that was like new and had one year warranty for $14k
I have no need to upgrade to anything yet because for what I shoot this is perfect -- artwork at galleries and looking for architectural and interior--.
The way I arrived at this price is by looking everywhere on line and then contacting a dealer with my own quote of what I needed. I found a $14.5k price but in California, since I'm in NY, I walked in a distributor here and said: "I have this offer, what do you think" and they got me one for $500 less and in NY. They also helped me a bit with the credit and some training.
A digital back has no moving parts (almost) and mine works with no hiccups (it hates when you shoot tethered with less than 50% juice on the laptop, but you just plug the computer in and there is no problem)
Then, the cost of Mamiya gear has nothing to do with other systems, everything I have (150mm,80mm, 45mm, 35mm and an AFD) I have purchased or traded and it all looks and works like new.
ok it doesnt suck but nobody I know would buy it. how about "irrelevent".
I would like to hear from more DB owners about how much they paid for there backs. we all know the list prices are not the real prices. so anyone out there, how much have you guys been paying for P21, P30, P25, Aptus 22, 54s, etc. ?
