lightroom malfunctioning

Hey all this is my first post on here.

 I love lightroom (accept the sharpening)  as much as my DSLR but yesterday something happened. After I exported about 500 photos most of them are corrupted. Also lightroom is randomly shutting down and I have lost some collections.

I am a MAC user

what is causing this?
