35mm for Leaf AFi/Hy6 when?
« on: September 05, 2007, 03:31:58 am »

Hi,

I have more or less decided to invest in a Leaf AFi system as soon as the 35mm and the prism finder becomes available.

I have heared november 2007 for both the prism finder AND the 35mm lens. Can anyone confirm this information?

Best Regards,

Don't worry, you can always get the Hy6 and an ALPA with a 35mm. That way you get PC control. who needs AF any way? number focusing is as good or better. Also the need for a 35mm is overrated. You should have no problem learning how to shoot everything with normal or tele. There is plenty of gorgeous examples of that... or try using film .. digital: overrated too. ah what about the 30mm fish eye? don't forget that one.

The Flektogon 35mm will likely not be ready before somewhere beginning next year. Realistically speaking. It is a very complex lens with a completely new design. Currently there are some issues to be solved before it will reach F&H's highly demanding standards for optical quality.

Nice summary. With a little more training, you will be ready for a position in the marketing dept. of Rollei/Sinar.

Realistically speaking, this is a complex position and lengthy in-house training time will be needed before the candidate achieves the high standards required to deal with the adult and informed community on this forum. However, according to an inside source, the candidate  will be released on the streets at the same time as the 35mm

With all due respect, may I ask for the same here and for those trying to handout information as accurate and helpful as possible?

It is baffling for me to always read such non-sense comments and at the least unfair to speak that way about any real sales representatives here or supposed ones (until further notice, nobody has ever said that EPd is one).

I don't think I am too sensitive when posting this, and do not especially feel concerned by it. Simply feeling that it is all about respect and interesting information on this site, not bashing or non-sense.

Thanks and best regards,
Thierry

When people promote thier reputation, work, product or sometimes just the relationship and connections and etc, they all considered salesman, most of the people in commercial world are in one way or another a sales person, it is not what they called, it is what they do.
When people are sharing and exchange information then they are friends. I have no idea anyone's job description has anything to do with posting comment here! It is about the iterests of photography or image capture/process or share of passion, not about profession.  Good information is good information, does not matter where it from.

I do totally share your way to see things, K.

Not only does it not matter who's who and what he is doing for a living, but also and for me, it is of no importance with which gear/brand he is working.

We are here to share and help each other, without any discrimination.

Cheers,
Thierry

Rune,
Why don't you continue in this earlier thread you started?  Isn't it better to keep all the info together instead of spreading it out?

Epd,
Any more info you can shed on the Hy6/AFi 120mm macro. Or other upcoming lenses?

Thanks for the flowers: it is always appreciated.

BTW: Sinar has nothing to do with Rollei

I was told a couple of days ago that the 35mm AFD lens is due for the summer 2008. (A "bit" late if you ask me..)

The information was passed on by Alex Granat,  Regional Manager EMEA, Leaf Digital Capture Group.

On a sidenote he also told me that the 45 degree viewfinder will be available in January 08, and that they are working on a on a rotating adaptor.

Best Regards
