External Drive with 2 Computers
« on: September 04, 2007, 12:16:15 pm »

I'm at a loss as to how we now share an external drive full of photos between two computers running LR 1.1

Could someone please point me to the right documentation?

Thanks so much,

Jake

Keep all your image files/folders on external drive & further you can keep your LRcat files also on that external drive.

Now simply open the cat files on any computer that should work.

Another method you can use is export/import catalog described here.

Thanks for assistance.

It turns out that my problem with sharing this drive across two computers (desktop/laptop) was not an issue with lightroom itself, but my new laptop for some reason was seeing the external drive as write protected.

Once I reset the permissions on the drive from within the new laptop all is well again.  Must be a Vista thing.

Thanks again,

Jake
