HP B9180 - Unwanted Lines of Dots on Photo's?
« on: September 03, 2007, 12:25:49 pm »

Since buying my B9180 a few months ago I've always used Canon paper, but recently decided to try HP's own A4 Premium Plus Photo Paper in Satin-matt (280g/m2).

Inspecting the results I'm dismayed to find unwanted lines of dots on the printed media:

Has anybody else had this problem? If so, how is it rectified?

Also, which is the best matt paper to use with this printer?

You can't use Premium Plus in the 9180. It is a swellable polymer made for dyes. When the pigment ink hits the surface the water in the ink expands the surface and the pizza wheels poke holes in the surface.  Use Advanced Satin Photo, or Pro Satin, or other instant dry Satin including Epson Premium Luster.
