The software vendor from whom I purchased ColorVision has agreed to accept the hardware/software package's return, ending my saga.

Kudo's to them! Don't be shy in mentioning them, its good to see them stand behind the customer and take back the product.

PrintFIX Pro 2.x Profiling Problem--HELP!!
« Reply #21 on: September 27, 2007, 10:02:20 am »

Just to follow up, the software vendor is Academic Superstore. They communicated with ColorVision, and between them agreed to refund the cost of the software/hardware. I've ordered from them frequently in the past, and intend to continue to do so as long as my eligibility remains via my academic connection. While it may take a few days to get a response, when it does arrive it imparts either a solution, or useful information. Kudos to them.

Support personnel at ColorVision were at all times helpful and responsive. I'm not sure anyone knows why I couldn't get functioning profiles on the Epson 4000; no evident hardware failure at any point could be found.

So I am back to ImagePrint--not a setback in any way, since my results have been terrific. Can't now even remember what problem I wanted to solve with custom profiles!

I just need IP profiles for the 4000 and the new Harman glossy baryta paper--I've made the request and have heard back that it's in the works. BTW I tried this paper with QTR using a curve for Epson Ultrasmooth, and it looked spectacular, with less bronzing and gloss differential than any glossy paper I've ever used before. Good glossy is no mean feat on the 4000, I can tell you. A touch of Premier Art Print Shield and I'm good to go.

Thanks again to everyone who tried to help me resolve my difficulties.
