What is HDR?
« on: August 22, 2007, 03:29:45 pm »

I read the forums regularly and many books on photography, but I missed this one and I'm seeing more and more. Just what is HDR?

Halitosis Dental Rot.

Usually the result of excessive reliance upon sandwiches as the main source of vitamin B++

During the early 1980s the practice of grabbing a sandwich at lunchtime became common practice. Whilst convenient and productivity improving it led to the development of HDR (Halitosis Dental Rot).

HDR was most often observed in later versions of Miami Vice which was a popular television series at the time. Due to the hectic shooting schedule, Don Johnson - the lead actor - was accustomed to grabbing a quicky between takes. This snacking on a sandwich (particularly onion laced) led to the development of severe dental rot and halitosis condition which led to the ultimate cancellation of the Miami vice series.

At last account Don Johnson was in rehabilitation following extensive dental rework.

Multiple exposure to HDR (Halitosis Dental Rot) images can cause severe psychological problems and often results in excessive desire to upgrade ones camera  to the most recent release. Photographers have been known to expose themselves multiple times (often in public places) in order to achieve the HDR effect - which is commonly believed to bestow high status in the photographic community.

However, seasoned professionals believe that HDR is a passing affliction that affects attention seeking neewbies attempting to attract praise to their physique.

But then who is to disagree with Wikipedia...
