tripod straps
« on: August 11, 2007, 01:13:28 pm »

Hi, I wonder if anyone has found the "magic strap" that can be used with tripods when someone must lug them around. I realize that some people use a canvas bag, but thus far I've found it kinda inconvenient because I am always having to pull the tripod in and out. Any suggestions?

Manfrotto make tripod straps but they need a little D ring near the head of the tripod to attach propperly - Manfrotto tripods have these but not other brands AFAIK.

For carrying my Gitzo I use a neoprene strap from the same people who make thos neoprene "halve the weight of your camera!" straps (can't remember their name). It has adjustable loops at each end to go around the head and legs of the tripod and a non-slip neoprene section to go over your shoulder. Works reasonably well.

Op/Tech, I think they are. I use the same one on a massive Bogen tripod I sorta inherited with my old Sinar F. Makes the intolerable, tolerable, though not fun.
