Where to buy or ask for samples of paper
« on: August 11, 2007, 01:26:36 am »

Hi,

I would like to try a bunch of samples of paper, but don't exactly know where to start. Does HP have a sample pack that will get me started?

I just bought a 44 inch Z3100 and would like to try out a bunch. I bought the sample pack of Hahnemuhle, but with only 2 letter size sheets, there's nothing left after the profile process.

What are people doing?

thanks

So....buy two sample packs.    I haven't purchased anything from them, but InkJetArt will sell you all kinds of samples: [a href=\"http://inkjetart.com/samples.html]http://inkjetart.com/samples.html[/url]

Many (all?) paper manufacturers sell samplers. When I got my printer, I got a sampler of 8x10"s for three (Hahnemühle, Red River and some other), printed out same samples, and made a decision (Red River).

The problem is you have to rely on the manufacturer's profiles. Of course you could profile each of the papers you like to get definitive answers...
