Speed Graphic Camera

Hi,

I hope I am not repeating myself - tried to send this earlier and not sure if it went out.

I recently acquired a Speed Graphic with a Graflex flash attachment and one flash bulb.  I would like to find someone who could check the camera over for me and make any repairs that may be necessary.  I was told that the focal plane shutter may need some work.  Also would like to get more bulbs for the flash.  And if anyone knows of a forum that discusses this camera I would appreciate learning of that as well.

I would love to go to a boxing match wearing a fedora with a press card in the band and see what kind of reaction I would get.  Weegie said that on of the best things about this camera is that it got him past police lines - don’t know if it would do it today but worth a try.

Hi Harris,

Check out http://graflex.org/ I learned allot about my Graflex at the site.

Give Jeff @ Lens and Repro a call (212-675-1900).  I bought my Graflex from him and it was totally rebuilt. I'm not sure if they do the rebuilds in house or send them out.

Great camera, you'll have fun with it.  I actually shot an annual report with the Graflex last year.  The client and subjects thought the camera was cool and loved the "retro" aspect of shooting with it.

I'm pretty sure flash bulbs are still available, check eBay. Also see : http://flashbulbs.com/

What size flash bulbs do you use for the Speed Graphic?

Wish I could answer that question.  The one bulb I have is a large screw-in type with filiment but has no markings that indicate size.  Will be checking it out at the site Joe Gibbs provided.
