A poster on another forum says that he is in the process of receiving an in-stock ZD Back from B&H.  

I notice on their site they now show it "out of stock" - which is a change from what had been posted as "Coming Soon!"

It was in stock last night and available at B+H. I'm hoping to have a demo unit to test out next week. I'll report back what I find.

ZD backs are in stock!!!   Just checked with Adorama site, the "see note" text is gone, and it is IN STOCK.  How many, I don't know. Of course, ZD back and 645 AFD II was always in stock.

My experience with Adorama is that you'd better call first.  But thanks for the info.

I just received mine from Adorama this morning. First impressions here:

My big question: is the buffer an issue? Can you shoot a burst of 5-6 frames then wait a second or two and be able to shoot a few more frames?

Hi Mark, I don't really see the point of comparing it to Canon gear. We choose medium format for the quality. Everything is slower and bigger, we know...
Looking forward to the image quality review...

You can shoot 11 frames and than you have to wait 10 seconds for every next.

When compared to film it means one roll of film app. and than change film

It really depends on how you shoot. If you have shot 5-6 frames & change your angle....... the camera is righting the files. For example my partner when she shoots she rarely hits the buffer. She works her shots then will direct again & by this time the buffer has cleared up. If you are a photographer who shoots bang bang............... then the buffer will fill up. At this speed  the Leaf & Sinar backs will work the best. The ZD shoots @ 1.2 f/s & with the Mamiya 645 AFD/Aptus 22 I think it is slightly slower at times.(than 1.2 f/s

OK, do we have a definitive opinion on the ZD back? Has anyone mated it to an RZ yet and tested? Sounds like it would be the answer for me.
