645AFDII mirror-up on manual
« on: July 15, 2007, 09:43:28 pm »

I don't get why I have to put the focus on the body to manual to use the mirror-up function on M mode.
It is even more annoying as the 35mm has its own AF/Manual ring, so I usually put the lens on manual focus and I still don't think that I also have to put the body on manual focus... I can put the mirror up but it won't shoot.
Hope I am clear enough.
Is it a mechanical restriction or electronic...

I've taken autofocus off the shutter release button and activate it instead with the focus lock button on the upper front of the body. That works just fine with mirror lock-up. This setup is controlled by one of the custom functions - I forget which. Check your users manual to find it.
