No sharpening on export?
« on: July 12, 2007, 08:47:33 am »

Browsing through various of the noise-reduction debates and improved sharpening talk for LR 1.1, I got the impression that LR (1.0 and 1.1 both) doesn't apply the normal sharpening when exporting, but only when printing.  Is that correct?  In that case, I feel rather dumb, having had numerous prints made without any sharpening.  Looking at the exported tiffs, I indeed cannot see any sign of USM-like sharpening, even at 400%.

Must apply better QA in the future.

There's capture sharpening which does affect what you export (unless you zero all the sliders out). The 'output' sharpening in the print module only affects the data in the print stream, not when exporting.
