For those who have not had a chance yet to hold the Leaf AFi camera and to see what it can do...
Please take a look at these clips (the last two show what is the true potential speed of the camera, mirror up and down...)

Turn the volume up and enjoy, yair

Yair,

too bad for me: You Tube is banned and censored in Thailand and for me!

best regards,
Thierry

Impressive!!

A pity it will take so long for the Afi to become available. I have been told it is not expected here before the years end and probably even later

So for me, it will be the V mount but than again with that I can use it on a really wide variety of stuff.

Nice little demo.

Thierry, you could try connecting to a public proxy server outside Thailand and browse youtube through that. Should work.

Too bad the Leaf backs are so slow... maybe someone else can make a faster back for the Hy6
(i have to struggle with a A75 everyday... )

I met the camera (and Yair) on Tuesday at a Digital workshop in Fulham.

The hy6 is very nice indeed and I was very impressed by how the back attaches itself to the camera. More importantly however was the ergonomics - very well thought out, the camera did not feel uncomfortable in my hands at all.

I await production models with baited breath. In the meantime the 6008/emotion 22 will be more than enough to get by with - except for the pesky sync cord...

Yair very impressive. Please tell me what is the Leaf plan for H1/A75 current users to use their backs on this camera? I hope there is one?

Thanks Andre, people who have seen it so far have all provided positive response.

You will be able to trade your back (H/AFD/Contax/V) in for a Leaf AFi kit (Body+WLF+back). There are going to be new adapters to fit the AFi back on RZ as well as LF cameras (Graflok or specific branded bodies).

I hope this helps

Yair,
Terrific news there will be an adapter plate to fit an AFi digital back onto an RZ67.  Will it be a cable-less solution?

No, you will still have to use a sync cable from the lens to the back.

i guess this should take care of the doubts some seem to have on which system will be the most advanced out there....the speed without back is extremely impressive...but also extremely useless? i don't think film could keep up with that....and obviously the backs can't....

from what i can tell this is a little faster then my P30 on the RZ...but not as fast as the P21 on the RZ....

is there a way to utilize the superfast shutter with the back?

Now this is impressive!

Wish, I wasn't so heavily invested into the H1.

I guess the concept is that the camera is meant to last you at least five years and by than your
P95++ and mine A105SS will be shooting four actuations a second. And with my inclinations for gambling I can bet you on that.

...About 0.3 sec/frame faster than yours (with no buffer or slowdowns, tethered or not) and that's 33MP 36X48 so almost double the file size of the P21...
The A54S beats the latter (and still provides a bigger frame and bigger file).
