645AFDII Lens Question

Just took the plung from DSLR to MF with purchase of 645ZD.  

Are all Mamiya 645 lens compatible with this camera?  

I understand many of them are manual focus but don't want to pick up a used lens that will not fit my new camera.

you can use the m645 lenses (the manual ones), but they only work stopped down. ie, if you want to shoot at f16, you need to focus at a wider aperture then turn the lens to f16 (dark as) before you shoot.
if you shoot wide open most of the time, then this isnt much of a hassle.

Yes, all M645 lenses will fit and operate stopped down, but whether they are practical to use probably depends on what type of shooting you do.

I use a couple of the M645 lenses (55/2.8 & 210/4) on my ZD and for landscape photography I find them very useable. It could be a different story for something like weddings, for example.

The AF lenses are pretty cheap second hand, but the manual focus ones are extremely cheap. I believe that the optical design of the N (new) series manual focus lenses is the same as the AF equivalents. The 'C' series are older and are generally not as good as the later 'N' series.

I plan to use mine mainly for landscape photography so it sounds really good to me.

I have a 1d MK III I use for moving targets.
