screen resolution??
« on: June 21, 2007, 04:29:47 pm »

I'm using Vista OS on a new gateway and do editing in CS3.  When increasing font size to compensate for increased screen resolution, CS3 will have some blurry dropdowns.  So I have 2 questions.

At what screen resolution do you use in editing?

Or, can I do an adjustment within Vista to automatically change my screen settings whenever I'n working in CS3?

Font size and resolution are two different things - which are you asking about?

With an LCD display there is only one correct size - native.

I'm sorry I don't know what native resolution is.  My PC system allows me tp go up to 1900x1200.  In PS is it desirable to have resolution that high?

If you have an LCD, it's always best to set your operating system to drive the display at its native resolution. In my case, this is 1600x1200. If you find font sizes too small, you can increase the DPI in the advanced settings of Windows' display properties, but this causes issues with some programs.

The best solution is to check around before you buy, and purchase an LCD with a pixel size that is acceptable to your eyes. For example, 19" and 26" LCDs have larger pixels than their 17" and 24" cousins (both respective pairs have the same number of pixels, so the larger screen's pixels are larger).

Post your monitor model number or lookup the specs yourself and you'll find it's naitve resolution.
