RIP for oversized Prints on EPSON 4000
« on: June 10, 2007, 10:02:44 am »

Hi,

I'm looking for a RIP to produce prints on roll paper longer than 44 inch (the length allowed by the Epson driver). Any suggestions. Thank you.

ImagePrint should do it.

Just about any RIP/driver application (ColorBurst, ImagePrint, StudioPrint etc) will extend the maximum print length by a great deal. It's also worth nothing that Epson's limitation is a *per page* limitation. If you have the patience to chop up your image and place the pieces into a multipage document like InDesign you can make 100+ feet panoramic prints with the Epson driver using the "Roll Paper - Banner No Margins" and "Save Paper" options with "Auto Cut" deselected. I have a client that wraps galleries with prints made this way and his prints are longer than what most RIPs support.
