Digicams

Hi there,

I had a look in the search section, but couldnt really find what I am looking for.

As I am a student in one of his busier semesters (yes there are students who are busy ;-) ), I have seldom the time to go out there for photographic purposes. This is not bad in itself, because I see a lot of pictures worth taking throughout the day anyway. But as I cant be bothered to take my D400 with me all the time I am missing most of them.

So theres my question:

Can anybody recommend a good digicam? It should be able to shoot RAW. (and if possible should support an external flash unit)

As I am a student, money is an issue for me (otherwise I would have gone for the M8 long ago)

Thanks,

Peter

It's hard to recommend one without knowing what you'd prefer to optimize for, but the dpreview.com web site has a great feature for listing all the cameras that conform to a list of whatever requirements you give it (I think it's called something like "features search").  Then you can look at the individual reviews for the ones that look promising; most of the reviews are quite detailed and will give you the pros and cons of each camera.

Very few digicams produce RAW format images.  That itself will greatly limit your options.

the just-released gx-100 is probably a good one. if you don't need raw capability, then it's canon g7
