PS Grey and color temp
« on: May 26, 2007, 02:24:03 am »

I have CS2

I shoot a sinarback whos files dont open in ACR

---

So working with (16bit) tiffs

I am looking for a PS plug in that..

Has a grey balance click facility

Has a temperature slider

DO I remember alien skin doing these things (I had the demo once)

----

Gregtag card action

Is there a plug in/action that one can make a set of settings off a photo of a gregtag card and then paste that set of setting onto a regular image

----

Lense correction

Is there an plugin/action that one could photograph a grey card with a checkerboard pattern on it

This action could then sort barrel distortion and vignetting

----

I understand that working with tiffs rather than RAW these action could mess up an image quality if they were used for major shifts but my tiffs from raw are pretty perfect good anyway

tips appreciated

Adobe Camera Raw under CS3 will open that Tiff, if you so desire.

Interesting.

Could you expand.

Do you basically do a save as and then get a new tiff with the transformation applied

I assume it must degrade the file some how (say you tried to correct a very tungsten image there must be a limit

---

Also I dont really like working in ACR in the way that I work with an image filling one screen and the toolbars in a second

---

ps (Mac Schoolboy) is CS3 cheap upgrade if you have a licensed CS2

ACR 4 will open a TIFF if you ask it do. It has the functionality you asked for, although I'm not sure how well its designed for gamma corrected files (this is being discussed elsewhere on this site).
