z3100 with Roll Paper
« on: May 24, 2007, 06:40:56 am »

Firstly apologies for such a basic question.  I have just bought my Z3100 24" and am trying to print four photographs side by side on a roll to make best use of the paper.  I am using Windows XP and Photoshop CS2.  Before I can print it wants me to tell it what paper size I am intending to use.  It knows that I have roll paper loaded so why doesn't it just print the pictures on the space that they require?

It keeps resizing the photographs and in some cases cropping.  This is really frustrating me as I know I must be missing something really basic here.

I can't seem to find the solution to this in either the manual or forum.

Thomas,

There is no other way than defining the print page length in
the HP driver first, load the images on that page and after
checking what is left unprinted on the page in Edit Page of
Qimage to reduce the initial size that is set in the driver
by that margin seen in Edit Page (- 5 mm for the usual
driver margin though, like you have 5 mm at the start).

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I'm printing through Qimage, works fine.
