Epson 4000 ImagePrint banding
« on: May 16, 2007, 02:21:45 pm »

White lines have recently started showing up in my images when I print through
Imageprint. I'm printing on an epson 4000 with IP version 6. The lines appear
only in the black areas of the print. They're very narrow, though noticeable. The lines
appear whether I print at 360 or 2880 dpi. They are not there when I print using the
Epson driver. The heads are unclogged, I've done several automatic alignment of the print heads, I've created a custom paper thickness setting, increased/decreased the ppr speed and
reinstalled Image Print, but the lines are still there. I updated the Epson firmware
several months ago. Is there a known conflict with the update and IP 6?  The lines disappear when I print at 8 pass, but this requires me to use 1440 or 2880 as the dpi setting. I'd like to continue printing at 360 dpi. Printing at 1440 dpi 8 pass takes longer, consumes more ink and other than the white line problem doesn't produce better results.  Any suggestions? Am I missing something.
Thanks,

Chris
