Rendering Previews?
« on: May 14, 2007, 09:11:36 am »

I have a library with 20k images.  I have set the thumbnail size I want (large for a 30" screen).  I want Lightroom to render previews for all while I sleep.  But I can't find any command to effect this.  So, when I open a folder, or collection, or by metadata (e.g., date), whatever photos selected start to render.  I finish keywording/flagging/etc. a page of previews, then page down, and the rendering/calculating starts again.  I have a dual core Athlon, with 2 gig of ram.  I don't like waiting for rendering, and would prefer that everything gets rendered as a batch job while I sleep.  Any advice?

Would also like to be able to have previews rendered for a particular size, so that when I am in loop view, and popping between pictures, I don't have to see the "Working" item for seconds for each picture.  PhotoMechanic never had this issue....

Try Library / Previews / Render 1:1 previews.

You can also render on import in the future...
