I have just spent a week there and the place is breathaking. The only downside is that the only way to get there is to spend 25.5 hours in a boat from Tokyo...

I envy you, you go to all the places I want to visit some day but somehow the suburbs have me chained down...

Certainly a place to visit, the southern Pacific part of Japan is so different from the mainland it's amazing they are allowed to keep it

Thanks for letting us travel along, I am amazed there is no airstrip there though. How much for the boat fare?

Of your images, the sunset/rise and the blue water strikes me with its simplicity. Did you try any panoramas this time?

Yep, making the move is pretty hard, but it feels so good out there.

45.000 Yen return during GW, could be cheaper off season... the closest air strip is on Iwo Jima, but that is closed to civilians, the next one is Hachijoujima, 600 kms away...

Nice traveling with you, Bernard, as always! I really like the image with the buttress roots, and the second one in with the blue/yellow on the ocean. I was tempted to ask if you were using a blue/gold polarizer, but they don't make one with a gold strip down the middle that I know of. The colours of the ocean in 'Aka' and 'Deep Dive Blue' are amazing.

Have to put that area on the (very long) list of places to visit!

Thanks for the nice words. No, there were no gold PL used in the second shot, those where just amazing colors to start with!
