I was pleased to hear that the M8 was holding up under working conditions (mine didn't, and was replaced by Leica.) However, I am under the impression that there is a basic fault with the sensor that will make it impossible to wake up any faster than it does -- in fact, I believe that the latest firmware actually slowed the waking-up process by a fraction of a second, to avoid the "icicles" fault; and I am under the impression that that's the best that can be done with this sensor. Files are nice, though, huh?

I take it this thread refers to "Boats & Rain". At first I just didn't get it. It was only after viewing it several times that I started to appreciate it. I'm at bit of a sceptic when it comes to the M8 but the "smoothness" of the colours again came to me only after several viewings. I hope Michael shows this picture fully framed at the "gala" opening because obviously viewing it on a monitor is a great disadvantage.
