Auto-focus Macro MF lens Rollei?
« on: April 30, 2007, 04:16:37 pm »

I am using a Mamiya 645 AF until the Hy6 becomes available with the SINAR 58H.  From time to time I need a macro lens, and I have too much trouble manually focusing, so am looking for an auto-focus lens.  Is there such a lens, or is one anticipated.  I just returned the Mamiya Macro, since I could not focus it even with the add on eyepiece magnifier.

Dear Jerry,

There is no Macro AFD lens planed at this stage. However, one can use the "Zeiss Makro Planar 4/120 HFT PQS" on the Sinar Hy6: I never heard any problem with focusing with this lens, although  did not myself used it.

Here the list of the AFD lenses planed for the Hy6:

AFD Xenotar 2.8/80 PQS
AFD Super-Angulon 2.8/50 HFT PQS
AFD Tele-Xenar 4/150 HFT-PQS
AFD Tele-Xenar 2.8/180 PQ
AFD Variogon 4.6/60-140 PQS
AFD 35mm

Best regards,
Thierry

Thierry,
I asked recently about the availability of the 35mm and the 120mm, and you replied "September 2007".  So, now it's changed?

Dear Billy,

No, nothing changed in these dates and still valid, although there is no 120mm planed and although I said that the mentioned new AFD lenses (50, 80, 150, 180, 60-140) are planed in September '07 AND the 35mm AFD shortly after, if I'm right.

Best regards,
Thierry

Perhaps, I should look at using the normal focal length lens with an auto-extension to allow closer focusing.  How close can the 80 mm lens focus?
