installing PKS CS3
« on: April 28, 2007, 04:02:42 pm »

I've hit a problem.  Obviously (I assume) I am doing something wrong, but when installing PKS in CS3 I had to enter my serial number again--and---it won't take it (what I have written down and it looks pretty straightforward).  And--unfortunately, choosing CS3 meant that I lost it in CS2, so now I'm up the proverbial creek LOL.  I wrote to Pixelgenius support and got a form letter right back--giving me tips for entering the numbers, followed that, can't see any reason why it could be wrong, but....

Has anyone had similar problems and what did you do?  I know the Pixelgenius folks are not sitting there waiting for me to ask for help LOL---but has anyone been able to verify their serial numbers (I no longer have the original email unfortunately) and be able to reinstall it.  Either I have a wrong number, perhaps a wrong 'name'---but I've gone through some possibles and haven't hit on anything else it can be.  Since I use PKS every day---I'm going to have a problem or have to revert back to a different sharpening procedure.

You need to contact PG Support at: http://www.pixelgenius.com/support.html

If you got a form letter back, it means you didn't provide enough information to do anything but supply a form letter...

Go to the support page Jeff mentions, look for:

"If you need to check your eSellerate records for your receipt or your order number, click here"

You can retrieve your serial number as long as you know the e-mail address you used for the order.

Jeff, after replying again, I got instructions to use cleanreg which I did (curious if the module should have been removed from the plugin folder after that---it was not).  I did get the same serial number from esellerates.  Same problem though--and I am the administrator.

I've since forwarded everything I know about the installation problem.  Sure miss PKS  :>(
