We are looking at a short break and have always wanted to go to Venice. The prices for the second week in May look quite good so two questions if you can advise?
1) Is May likely to be (fairly) low chance of rain and reasonable temperatures?
2) Any recommendations for good hotels?
TIA for any feedback

I've been visiting Venice quite a few times and May is - in my opinion - a very good period to go. Temperature is still comfortable and not too hot at night. This year is a bit special as we already have above the average temperatures throughout Europe but it should be OK. Avoid July & August!
As for hotels, I don't know as we've mostly been sleeping in B&Bs. Prices can be less expensive if you sleep outside the central areas (along the Grand Canal, Rialto bridge). Last time, we slept on the small [a href=\"http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giudecca]Giudecca[/url] island. Very quite at night and just a 2 minute boat trip to Venice.
