Need to move my library
« on: April 27, 2007, 08:03:58 am »

I have two library management questions...

Question 1
My main drive is filling up, so I have purchased a large internal drive for dedicated photo storage.  I need to move my existing Lightroom library (~10k images) to the new drive.  How do I do this without breaking the integrity of the library?

Question 2
One other (mostly unrelated) question...  My managed folders right now are organized like this:

Folders
--> Lightroom Photos
-----> Folder A
--------> Sub 1
--------> Sub 2
--------> ...
-----> Folder B
-----> ...

This is giving me a useless top level.  Is it possible to select multiple managed folders without breaking the library, such that my Folders tree looks like this:

Folders
--> Folder A
-----> Sub 1
-----> Sub 2
-----> ...
--> Folder B
--> ...

Thanks for your help on both fronts...

I think I've answered my own question.  I created some new top-level folders in my existing library, which exist physically on the new drive.  Now I'm moving the existing folders into the new ones.  All the database data is being preserved just fine.
