Annual Replacement of iPF5000 Printheads?
« Reply #20 on: May 04, 2007, 02:07:54 am »

This post not about ipf5000, but Canon printhead experience. My W6200 working about 26 months since head died this week. I service manual say that head life is 2200 A1 copies. In printers system info I found ~1800 meters print and its ~2050 copies A1. In head info - head life 847. I mean, full heads life is 1000 (MTC full life is 1000). In all of my printers heads life, he is not been clogged. Only last few days looks like he is clogged, but really life is ended. Really he looks like a new.

Where is hint, why he died? Suddenly.

It got depressed with only 153 units left to the 1000 :-)

Seriously, is there a warning that the head is dead or is it simply not printing because there's excessive clogging due to for example pigment settling in the ink lines ?

What has been the experience so far with ultra-sonic cleaning of the new generation of thermo heads ?

Simly not printing. All inks in the same time. I made the 5 copies and 3 I had blank. Trying to clean 3 times no results. No warnings, no errors. Made a ink valve selftest - Ok.

What is a ultra-sonic cleaning? I'm afraid in my country service is on a low-level. I have a one and only W6200 in country

Asking for a new printhead, it costs 700euros. Looking for a int sales from America, Canon avoid sells outside US.
In Germany good price ~550eu, problems with language.  = Sorry, offtopic =
