Moab Entrada profile issues with Epson R1800
« on: April 21, 2007, 01:30:04 am »

I have an Epson R1800 printer. I recently purchased sheets of 11"x14" double-sided Moab Entrada fine art paper. I have downloaded the profile from Moab's web site but am having issues getting the profile to work properly with Photoshop CS2 and my epson. After following all of the instructions and getting past the "print with preview" window, I am having trouble figuring out what to do to select the right print settings (the default velvet fine art option is grayed out). Can anyone help out with detailed instructions please?!

You need to select a different paper size in the Page Setup screen. To the right of each paper size, you will see a 'manual' option. This is for the manual paper path in the back. You have to select this manual paper path before a number of media choices are available.

voila!

I have tried this, but still no velvet fine art paper option. It is still grayed out. I have attached a pic of what my page setup screen looks like. I still am unsure as to what the problem is.

You need to select the submenu options to do this. See attached image.

11x14 is probably a bad choice to start off with, as I am not sure if your printer only has a few manual paper choices. Try 8.5x11 to see if there is a manual paper option.

Hmmm, this is very frustrating. I still have the same print options under 8.5 x 11 on my Epson Stylus Photo R1800. The paper that I am trying to print on is 11 x 14 predrilled and scored - so really it is 11.75 x 14. It is Moab Entrada Fine Art Bright 190# double sided paper for my portfolio. I am truly at a loss.

Try contacting Epson. Those media options (velvet fine art, ultrasmooth, watercolor radiant white, etc) have to show up somehow. Just tell them you are using Velvet Fine Art, as they are very myopic when it comes to third party papers.

OK, I am on the phone with Epson now (about a 45 minute wait, wow). Moab is not open until Monday though.

Thanks abiggs for your input!

If anyone else has any ideas, please pass them along.

In page set up (im using a mac) after choosing your printer,; which then gives you that printers particualr page options. The go to A4, a menu extends out. I choose manual roll borderless. I then had those greyed out options in my paper choices. Paper needs to then be fed through the back end of printer
