20D hot shoe loose

just noticed that the hot shoe on my first 20D is loose - probably the result of using a telephoto flash on the 550 EX bouncing around in a Land Rover in Botswana - but the 550 flash is pretty heavy by itself

anybody else have this problem?

have to use a flash bracket?
