Moab by Legion paper update
« on: March 30, 2007, 03:08:02 pm »

Just thought I'd share some information on the new MOAB by Legion line of papers.  I'm a huge fan of Moab products and will miss Kayenta, but hopefully the new LaSal Photo Matte will accept heavy areas of ink a little more gracefully than Kayenta--which has a tendency to ripple.  The new Colorado fiber line is good news--both are alphacellulose papers which are going after the "air-dried F-surface" market.

•   Somerset Enhanced Velvet / Textured remains the same
•   Entrada Rag Natural and Bright White remains the same
•   Colorado Fiber is a NEW fiber-based paper available in Gloss and Satine  (both 245 gsm alphacellulose papers)
•   Anasazi Premium Canvas replaces Legion Premium Canvas
•   LaSal Photo Gloss replaces Legion Photo Gloss and Kokopelli Photo Gloss
•   LaSal Photo Luster replaces Legion Photo Silk and Kokopelli Photo Satin
•   LaSal Photo Matte replaces Legion Photo Matte and Kayenta Photo Matte (alphacellulose, 235 gsm C2S sheets, 230 gsm C1S rolls)
•   Chinle Presentation remains the same
•   Desert Varnish remains the same

Info is from materials provided by Legion's VP of sales.  Look for updated Moab web site soon and sample packs in the next week or so.

Barry....Any idea when the "Colorado" paper will be available? There is no mention of it at Moab's website. Also very very little information on the web.

Hey Peter--believe me, I can't wait to get my hands on the new Colorado papers as well.  The sample packs were supposed to be available now along with an updated web site.  Not sure what the delay is, but I guess Legion is just a little slow at getting the new launch off the ground.
