stefano,

I picked up on a link to this blog with a lot of information on this and other related topics from the Lightroom News site (www.lightroom-news.com) This link will take you directly to a discussion on embedding LR galleries into existing web pages, Bluefire Blog.

The porfolio section of my web-site has been completely redone with LR galleries, if you are interested.

The only glitches I have come across so far are that the galleries refuse to load on machines running Win XP and Firefox. and the current discussion seems to only allow you to embed at a fixed size... my galleries are sized for 1280 x 1024 and can't be viewed without scrolling or viewing fullscreen (F11 on Windows) at lower resolutions.

thanks for your reply.
the gallery does not show up in Camino [so maybe not in Firefox for Mac OS X as well?].
it looks very good in Safari.

why does it not show properly in Mozilla browsers?
how did you integrate it in your page?

I would really appreciate!
i like your photos!

Stefano,

All I did was follow the example in the blog entry I quoted above.  I am not a web developer, (although I probably should hire one) so I have no idea why it works under some browsers and not others.

Reports back from users is that it does work under MacOSX/Firefox.

Thanks for your comments on my work.

"Reports back from users is that it does work under MacOSX/Firefox"

Tried that combination last night and it didn't work. It was OK with Safari.

John,

Thanks for the "heads ups".  I was obviously confused. I have amended the disclaimer on my home page accordingly.

Surely it must be possible to embed LR galleries into existing web pages in such a way so that they work with all browsers, and resize according to the viewer's screen size?

I imagine I'll just have to find someone who understands all of this better than I, and hire them.

best regards,

There is some browser detection script in there, but these things are just so tricky to get 100% right, even though the designers seem pretty switched on. Sooner or later someone will spot the one line that's causing the problem.
