FWIW, I think this image would be well served with a crop to the bottom, using a square format, to emphasize the compositional elements of the cloud and water without too much sandy path foreground. I'd also lightly dodge the topmost cloud layer and the remaining sandy pathway for some balancing brightness. Excellent shot, though.[attachment=2167:attachment]

My take on your images and submitted for your consideration.

The only thing I did was crop.

Were these conversions from color? If so, very fine job. The tones are very pleasing to these old eyes

 That is my .02 worth.

All - thanks. I like the cropping options.

Doug, with respect to you, wouldn't it be more pleasant perhaps to suggest something like "another useful place for critiques is ..." ?

Or perhaps "in my opinion, a better place for critiques is ..." ?

My normal rule of thumb is to disregard (most) negativity in forums but I feel your blunt dismissal of this place as a venue for critiques is jarring, and out of step with the usually positive and supportive vibe we'd expect to meet here.

If I submit a photo for comment and criticism then I'll welcome all responses whether positive or negative relating to my photo, but I wouldn't welcome short bullets like yours which surely(?) undermine my decision in the first place to recruit this Forum's members for constructive feedback

Or have I just been bitten by a Troll ...

Regards,
Colin
