Havasu Falls in the fall
« on: March 18, 2007, 01:44:10 pm »

I'm interested in making another trip to the Grand Canyon to go to Havasu Falls and would apprecite some advice in planning the trip.

First question I have is how to get there.  I've read that the area is only accessible via mule or helicoptor. Are there any recommended guides to get there and how much is the cost?  How far in advance to they need to be booked?

Second question is where to stay - ideally the shortest distance for shooting close to sunrise/sunset.  I've tried to do some research on the internet and the Havsupa tribe site I found the accomodationsvery reasonably priced at $145/night(http://www.havasupaitribe.com/index.htm).

However, i'm not sure how far the accomodations are from the actual falls.  Is this the best place to stay??

Lastly, when is the best time to go for shooting fall colours?

Thanks in advance!

I'll be following this thread.  We are hoping to visit the fall this month with friends.  Luckily, we live close enough (in Flagstaff), but it does not look like a day hike for this visit.

Good luck with your visit!
