lightroom crashing in devolop mode
« on: March 12, 2007, 07:59:55 pm »

Any idea what could be the problem ? As soon as I hit the develop button in lightroom it freezes.
To quite it I have to force it.

Any ideas what it could be ? Did anyone had the same problem ? It is always the same, does not matter which kind of image I'm opening. ( 1DsMk2 file, 10D file, 5D file, jpg, tif ...)

Thanks a lot.

System:

Intel C2D
4GB Ram
2* NV 7300 GTs
Windows XP Prof. x64

Could it be that itunes and lightroom don't work together ? I am to tired to do further tests, but I have the feeling lightroom is much more unstable while running itunes.

Chris:

Try downloading Process Explorer from sysinternals, essentially Windows Task Manger on Steriods:

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysintern...ssExplorer.mspx

Set Process Explorer to always stay on top, the view the threads tab and make the switch to develop . . .

I agree with a point Jeff Schewe made in another thread: it really could be more helpful to all of us if ALL the Lightroom stuff were raised and responded to within the Lightroom section of the Forum (near the top). While there is obviously a temptation to start new threads for each issue, having all these threads on Lightroom scattered all over the place wrecks the cross-fertilization and inter-relatedness of various matters one would have hoped to achieve by putting discussion about the various aspects of the same piece of software in the same place.

I don't know the purpose of that remark, but I do believe members of the Forum are allowed to make suggestions to each other that could improve the user experience for all of us. It's a community of participants that doesn't need admins in every corner to say what is sensible.

It's not a matter of being disturbed - there are more important issues in life to be disturbed about. It was just a SUGGESTION. And why give the admins work when they've already provided a convenient roof under which to house all the Lightroom stuff? My final two cents-worth on that matter.

What is your problem ? I know that mistake, but why should I bother. I don't problem is solved and if people are disturbed about some lightroom question in that part of the forum and an admin could move it. If not then it stays there it is. That's it.
