lightzone
« on: March 09, 2007, 10:12:30 pm »

i finally did purchase Lightzone.  i use C1 LE to convert from raw to tiff, then edit in LZ. i noticed that my tif file tended to be a lot darker in LZ than what i saw in C1 LE. for example in a shot of a friend with black hair, much of the hair was one big black patch in LZ whereas in C1 LE it was not.

i read the updates to LZ version 2.2.1 vs. earlier versions and saw an interesting comment about LZ's editing space: "LightZone always works in a 16-bit linear color space. Unlike a non-linear gamma-corrected color space, ".

i then thought to use the proof option in LZ to preview what the image would look like with the same profile i used to export the image in C1 LE, ProPhoto.

LZ and C1 LE now both display the image the same way.
