Captured Time sort
« on: March 02, 2007, 01:04:47 am »

I'm using LR 1.0 and when I sort my photos by Captured Time the photos that I have recently edited appear at the bottom although the sort order is set to captured time.  I can look at the Metadata and have confirmed the captured time is accurate but that LR is not displaying them in the right order.

Any ideas?

There's a little box with a staircase icon beside 'Capture time'. That's the ascending/descending box. Click it to make the new images go to the top.

That is not the issue... they are still sorted wrong just in descending order when clicking that button.

Okay.
Does toggling again make a difference? When the files come in they may not obey the order and the toggle might pull them into the sort.
BTW, I wasn't being sarcastic, but on rereading my own post, I think it may come across that way unintentionally.

No difference... and no you didn't come across as sarcastic.  In fact when I read your post I thought maybe I didn't make myself clear enough.

Anyway... I've got the system backed up now so I'm going to try a few things to see if I can resolve this.  Perhaps the problem exists as a result of going from Beta 4.1 to V1.0

I think that may be the case. I have the same issue in some folders.

It ended up being a corrupt database from Beta4.1.

I exported my XMP files and then setup a new database.  Re-imported the files and VOILA problem solved.  I figured there was something wrong with the database when I didn't have a "user sort" in my selection list for sorting the files in the grid view.  After creating the new database everything works fine.
