I've just calibrated my monitor, and am working with a new printer (7800) and while retouching in photoshop (only for a few weeks) I started to notice that all the pictures on my monitor, whether in photoshop or just on the net, all look slightly vertically elongated. Meaning everyone looks kind of slender. I have another older system that I compared it to and this monitor definately "thins up" the people.
I have a Dell 1907FP with factory defaults of 1024x768, with the ability to go up to 1280x1024
At higher settings the elongation seems to disappear but the screen seems sort of oversharpened.
My question is what do photographer/retouchers generally set their monitors to.
Thanks in advance.
