RIP, spectrophotometers etc
« on: February 21, 2007, 08:27:30 pm »

I've read this in one of the LL printer reviews:

"With a suitable RIP and a spectrophotometer one can linearize almost any printer..."

Now, the spectrophotometers are becoming more affordable so I thought it's a good time to learn more about RIPs. Do you know of any good references on that? I know how to create a printer profile with a spectrophotometer but I have no idea what RIP software does exactly and how to use them together.

Thank you.
