now the 6008 has the same problem? where does this come from...i had 2 6008af bodies, neither had any shutter lag.....the trigger on the handle is sometimes hard to push (i have big fingers) but there is no delay at all.....
maybe this is a personal "feeling" but i don't think this is based on any actual measurable fact.....for either camera...

Yes - the trigger is hard to push. I'm only referring to that sensation itself, which is not the same as shutter lag, although someone could construe it that way, as in "trying to release the shutter,  but not able to right away". That's sort of a shutter lag.

But you're right, when the shutter actually gets pressed, I haven't really noticed a lag from that moment on with either of those cameras (645AFD/Rollei 6008).

Spongy is a good way to describe it. It can be frustrating when trying to time a movement but other than that not too annoying. In mirror lock up mode I actually like it. I've watched the lens when shooting and it seems to be about the time it takes for the aperture leaves to close down. Really small amount of time but there.

hmmm, 'spongy' feel...not really desired but I guess it is something I can get used to. Sorry to rephrase the question...but has anybody tried leaf shutter lenses with the AFD?
cheers

you cant use leaf shutter lenses with the afd. its a too complicated process- leaf shutter needs to be open before exposure for focusing, the closed so the focal plane can open, then it needs to open then close to expose the pic, then the reverse the process to finish.

they had it working on the 645pro, its a pity it wasnt continued on.

thanks, Paul. I am just narrowing down my choices and this info helped a lot. Out with the 645, then (since leaf shutter is a must) and in with the good old Hasselblad V. It seems to give me all I need plus a huge range of lenses. Who would have known that this retro looking beauty all of a sudden becomes so appealing in light of the modern digital backs...

cheers
